When you are at initial stages of designing a frameless shower enclosure, it is important that you consider all the facets of the job. This includes potential problems that may arise, and any safety issues that you should be aware of. It is interesting that in the many years we have taken phone calls from our shower door customers, we often hear customers say that they have a design problem that could have been prevented with better preparation.
We can help you in planning and designing you shower door from start to finish. The planning process start way before you renovates your bathroom. There is a lot of factors to consider.
- What hinges to use?
- Do I need a towel bar or not?
- Can I hinge the door on the wall or glass panel?
- Is my hardware color available?
You have two types of hinges Pivot hinge and wall/glass hinge. Pivot hinge will allow you to swing door pass 180 degree mark, wall mount or glass to glass will only open up to 180 degrees. So if you do not want the door to hit a toilet or vanity that might be on the way, you should not use pivot hinge.
You might need a towel bar installed on the door or glass panel. If your wall mount towel bar is too far from where the door will be installed you might consider towel bar on your glass.
You have an option to install the door on the wall or glass panel. You might consider mounting the glass door on the panel when you have any obstacles around like, radiators, toilet, vanity, towel bar that was installed before you order your door.
If you planning to match your existing hardware color with shower door hardware you need to make sure it’s available. There is a lot of finishes available to choose from and you should be able to match yours, if not we can make custom color for you.
